“I don’t believe people should be able to own guns,” Obama told John Lott at the University of Chicago Law School. “We should restore the ban on military-style assault weapons and a 10-round limit on magazines,” Obama continued. Both of those proposals “deserve a vote in Congress. Our law enforcement officers should never be outgunned on the streets.”
These stunning revelations came in his new book, At the Brink, by economist and author John Lott Jr., who assesses the presidency of Barack Obama and recalls conversations regarding gun laws they had while working at the University of Chicago. In Chapter Three, Mr. Lott discusses gun-control and takes the reader back to his time at the University of Chicago, where he and then-professor Barack Obama spoke on numerous occasions about guns in America.
While this comes at no surprise to Second Amendment Patriots, it is a tell to the inter workings (mind set) of this president. Obama has repeatedly stated that he is not looking to take way gun ownership in public, while privately working behind the scenes to take them away. We now know this to be more true than not by looking at how Obama is responding to the Sequester Growth Rate Cuts. Obama made factually inaccurate statements (AKA Lies) about the pain that would be imposed by the sequester, such as
If the sequester hits, federal prosecutors will have to “let criminals go.” — President Barack Obama
There are literally teachers now who are getting pink slips” because of sequestration. — Education Secretary Arne Duncan on “Face the Nation.”
“Up to 70,000 children would lose access to Head Start and early Head Start services.” – Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius
We now know these statements to be out and out lies. More importantly, they give us clear insights into the mind set (inter workings) of Obama (check out Saul Alinsky Rule 13). He is clearly playing off the public’s limited attention when it comes to truthfully addressing the complexity of gun ownership and violent crimes. Saul Alinsky, if alive today, would be very proud of Barak Obama.
Knowing that Obama believes that “people should not own guns” is the first step towards creative a sustainable strategy for defeating him on this issue. As a fundamental principle of psychology, all of his acts will be “consistent” with this believe. The Consistency Principle, best popularized by Dr. Robert Cialdini (Psychology of Influence), states that:
If people commit, orally or in writing, to an idea or goal, they are more likely to honor that commitment because of establishing that idea or goal as being congruent with their self-image.
This is no longer about politics, it is about psychology. Obama has no choice but to do whatever it takes (lie to the public, deceive his own party, disrespect others in power) to prevent the American people from lawfully owning guns. We, on the other hand, need to view his actions and words through the prism of a deeply troubled and flawed man. Taking his words and reversing them, in order to understand his true intensions. This is the only way to counter what will surely become a war on the American People.
